Standards of Coexistence at School: Guidelines for a Respectful Education

Exploring the roots of school coexistence norms and understanding their evolution over time is essential for all parents seeking a quality education for their children. The School Regulations, as a formal document, play a crucial role in defining relationships in the school community, organizing the functioning of the institution and outlining the rules of coexistence.

The School Regulations are not just a set of rules; it is a reflection of the school’s pedagogical proposal, highlighting the value of the student, their potential and the importance of perceiving themselves as a social subject with rights and obligations.

The norms of coexistence are not authoritarian impositions, but rather collectively constructed guidelines, based on the principles of solidarity, ethics, cultural plurality, respect for differences, autonomy and democratic management. They aim to guide interpersonal relationships, promoting participatory and responsible coexistence which, in turn, contributes to the construction of emancipatory citizenship.

It is crucial that parents and new students understand these rules when they enter the school, because when they enroll their children, they are automatically adhering to the institution’s values and principles.

The relationship established between the school and the community occurs through dialogue, cooperative actions and active participation of all members. The regulations are not just a set of rules to be followed, but an instrument that promotes conflict resolution and the construction of ethical and citizenship values.

We believe that it is the role of the entire school community to mobilize collective experiences and productions that provide positive attitudes, in addition to promoting spaces for dialogue with active and empathetic listening to children and professionals, reflecting and transforming adverse and conflictive situations into inclusive and transformative educational practices. .

The writer Augusto Cury also states: “There is a world to be discovered within each child and each young person. The only people who are imprisoned within their own world cannot discover it.”

As we begin this new school year, we invite all Infanzia families to get to know us more and better. Each school has its own story and we are excited to share ours. Welcome, everyone!
